ARGELANDER, Friedrich (1799-1875). "The Variable Stars" a three-part paper in Popular Astronomy, February-April, 1912, volume20, numbers 2-4. The paper occurs as follows: "The Variable Stars", February, pp 91-99; March, pp148-155; April, pp 207-216. Each contained in the full monthly issues. The issues are lacking the outer wrappers, and the printing on the paper spine cover is half gone. FAIR-GOOD copies. 3-4/10. This is the very capable first English translation of Argelander's foundational 1844 paper by the great Anne Jump Cannon. The Argelander paper is one of the classics of observational stellar astronomy. 714.3.
