Velvet Scars Beneath the Skin

**In the city of gold, the heaviest weight is a clean name.**

In Jouberton, reputation is a birthright inherited before teeth. For Naledi Pokompe, life is a curated display of prestige-a "velvet" existence built on the sharp creases of her family's legacy. But beneath the polished surfaces lies the "soul's worst country," a place where hunger and buried grief collide. As the structures of her world fracture against the grit of Johannesburg, Naledi must navigate the high cost of her own identity. A piercing psychological drama, *Velvet Scars Beneath the Skin* explores the invisible architecture of power and the resilience required to finally see beneath the surface.
