Venture Mathematics Worksheets: Bk. A: Algebra and Arithmetic: Blackline masters for higher ability classes aged 11-16

The author spent many years teaching at a selective school with the constant challenge of including the most able pupils, whilst at the same time avoiding the danger of excluding the rest of a class. These blackline masters are the result: many of them include fairly routine work, but most have more difficult questions to provide a challenge for the really able. The answer sections provide guidance on these difficult questions. Book A topics covered include: Thinking decimals; Patterns and problem solving in algebra; Further problem solving with algebra; Equations; Cancelling; Indices and standard form; Reading and drawing graphs; Straight line graphs; Number patterns and algebra; Errors and calculations; Graphs; Solving cubics.
