84pp, red leather boards with gilt frame, spine with raised bands. The contents are in very good condition, as are the boards, the book has been re-backed with a replacement covering laid on - we can just make out the title 'First Lessons in German Reading'. A note inside records that this is 'The Author's own copy'. In thanking Dunwoody for his first of two lectures the Chairman said that '[Dunwoody] knew all that there was to be known about canals' - he had served on the Canal Control Committee which took over the canal companies in 1917 following some years of decline as a result of Government supporting and subsidising for the railways. I concentrate on books on transport (mainly railways), industrial history, maritime, topography, the Beatles & other groups from the 1960s and interesting ephemera.
