Versus. Pure Slush Vol. 5: Volume 5

5 poets write 15 poems each against 15 different topics, so the collection features 75 different opinions. All are different and unique in their own way. "Can good poetry be written on demand? Matt Potter asked five poets to write poems on fifteen topics like "Convenience Stores," "Personal Grooming," and "Public Transport." The result was Versus, an attractively-designed anthology with many memorable poems like Howie Good's arresting 'To the Blue', Claudia Bierschenk's plaintive 'Old Women Blues', Ron Campbell's biting 'Operators',Carolyn Cordon's artful 'What Can I Do?' and JP Reese's scorching 'Ghosts.' Can good poetry be written on demand? The answer is "Yes" and 'Versus' is the proof." Bill Yarrow, author of 'Pointed Sentences'
