Seventeen-year-old Luna Auer thought she had her future planned: finish at a top-notch high school, continue her education, and graduate as a veterinarian. But when her scholarship is suddenly revoked, her dream and her world are turned upside down. Resorting to a work-study program in a remote corner of the universe, she discovers a plan by the corrupt corporation she works for to eliminate the planet's hybrid animals. With the help of an eccentric motorcycle-riding vet and his canine sidekick, will Luna be able to save those she has come to love?
