Stop guessing AI prompts and start building like a professional software engineer!
In Part 1: Foundations (Days 1–10) of the From Vibe Coder to Software Engineer series, follow the transformational journey of Leo—a non-technical professional who transitions from blindly copying AI prompts to mastering true computer science fundamentals.
Whether you use Cursor, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or Claude, AI can write syntax—but only you can architect production systems. This 10-day intensive guide breaks down complex engineering concepts into crisp visual diagrams, mental models, and real-world production incident case studies.
What You Will Master in Part 1 (Days 1–10):- Day 1: How Software Really Works — CPU registers, RAM memory hierarchy, and process execution.
- Day 2: The Internet & The Web — DNS lookups, TCP handshakes, TLS 1.3 encryption, and global CDNs.
- Day 3: Memory Allocation — Call Stack vs Heap memory, reference pointers, and avoiding memory leaks.
- Day 4: Concurrency & Event Loop — Non-blocking asynchronous execution and unfreezing single-threaded web UIs.
- Day 5: Data Structures — Array vs Hash Map vs Binary Tree memory layouts and $O(1)$ lookups.
- Day 6: Big-O Algorithmic Complexity — Linear, logarithmic, and quadratic growth curves.
- Day 7: Version Control & Git DAG — Commit trees, rebasing, reflogs, and recovering lost production code.
- Day 8: Programming Paradigms — Object-Oriented vs Functional pure functions with zero side-effects.
- Day 9: Browser Rendering — DOM/CSSOM trees, layout reflows, and smooth 60 FPS repaints.
- Day 10: Modern Frontend Architecture — Next.js App Router, React Server Components, and client hydration.
Packed with 10 full-page technical blueprint infographics, practical code snippets, and real-world tech disaster case studies (like the Fastly global CDN outage and the Ariane 5 rocket disaster), this guide gives you the foundation to build software with confidence.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
