About the Author
Claude Serre est né en 1938. Tout d'abord décorateur de porcelaine puis de vitraux, il débute sa carrière de dessinateur humoriste en 1962 en proposant de nombreuses illustrations dans Plexus, Planète, Hara Kiri, Le Pariscope ou Lui. Il dessine également des affiches pour le cinéma, le théâtre et la publicité. L'année 1972 marque un tournant dans sa carrière puisqu'il rencontre Jacques Glénat, pour lequel il publie Humour noir et Hommes en blanc. Vont suivre une quinzaine d'albums sur des thèmes aussi éclectiques que Le Bricolage, L'Automobile ou La Bouffe, rencontrant d'année en année un succès grandissant. Ce succès lui a permis d'être traduit dans quatorze pays (Allemagne, Portugal, Hollande, États-Unis...) montrant ainsi que la BD d'humour se porte bien. Il disparaît en 1998, laissant derrière lui une œuvre considérable.
