The victory is not the end of all things; it is only the means to the end. Victory is the "means of success". The purpose of victory is to deliver us from the opposition the enemy places in our way as we move toward the high prize that the Lord has set before us. So, here it is, victory is what the Lord uses to "clear the way for us to be successful". Once we have the victory, we can celebrate but then we must move on to the intended goal.
