C'est que Van Gogh, qui accessoirement �tait peintre aussi, est une affaire en or. Dans cette affaire,il est bien au-del� de son œuvre maintenant, nulle part.J'ai voulu le voir en de�� de l'œuvre�; par les yeux de quelqu'un qui ignore ce qu'est une œuvre, si ce ph�nom�ne �tait encore possible � la fin du si�cle dernier�; quelqu'un qui vivait dans un temps et dans un milieu o� la mode n'�tait pas encore que tout le monde compr�t la bonne peinture�:ce facteur Roulin qui fut l'ami d'un Hollandais pauvre, peintre accessoirement, en Arles en 1888. Et bien s�r je n'y suis pas parvenu. Le mythe est beaucoup plus fort, il absorbe toute tentative de s'en distraire, l'attire dans son orbite et s'en nourrit, ajoutant quelques sous au capital de cette affaire en or, sempiternellement.Cet �chec est peut-�tre r�confortant�: il me permet de penser que le facteur Roulin se tient n�cessairement devant qui l'�voque � la fa�on d'une apparition, comme le voulait celui qui le fit exister.
