The scarcest of the series of the Board of Agriculture surveys and possibly the most detailed description of the agriculture, rural economy and social conditions of Middlesex. Finely re-bound by Bayntun in half green morocco with raised bands, gilt titles and gilt decoration on the spine. Binding thus in fine condition. 597-page text in very good, tight condition, virtually devoid of foxing. Errata leaf present. Marbled page edges. Very slight dustiness of a few leaves. New blank end papers. No half title. Has the folding, coloured frontispiece map of Middlesex (with small, expert edge repair affecting ruled border only) and the folding table of the Parishes out of the Bills of Mortality, but lacks the map of Enfield Chase.
