Illustrated with a frontispiece, nine plates (two of these hand-coloured, both folding, being a Plan of the Town, and a Geological Section of Surrounding Hills), and thirty-eight textual vignettes. 低opies at Bodleian, Cambridge, V&A, Leicester, and National Library of Scotland, but seemingly not BL. Original straight-grained mauve cloth, gilt lettering, gilt-&-blind decoration, edges untrimmed. One inch paper repair to verso of Plan at one fold. A well-used copy, spine sunned to a shade of brown & frayed with loss, lower hinge partly cracked but still sound, with the armorial bookplate of William Nash Skillicorne (1807-1887), first mayor of Cheltenham, to front pastedown.
