The View from Delphi: Rhapsodies of Hellenic Wisdom and An Ecstatic Appreciation of Western History

"The View from Delphi moves along poetically, not weighted with the scholarly burden, yet its scholarship is clear. It recapitulates my writings and extends them beyond what I imagined. It reminds me of the work of Bhlavatsky and Gurdjieff, but instead of looking to the East, the View uncovers that same mystic well-spring in the West." - Norman O. Brown, PhD, Professor Emeritus, University of California, Santa Cruz, Author of Life Against Death, Love's Body The View from Delphi gives the reader not only an objective assessment of Western civilization’s mystical and religious traditions, but an inward view as well. Circling about the Oracle at Delphi like a pilgrim paying sacred homage, the reader is instructed rhapsodically, and, if willing, transported to a brilliant mystery that is at the core of Western culture—and felt inwardly in each one. The reader will ride the poetic and academic currents of Marrero’s rhapsodies and feel the depth of the spiritual foundations of Western civilization.
