Over the years our faith in Christ matures, in part, as a consequence of the inspiration produced within the congregations to which we belong, the Church School classes we attend, and the services of worship on which we concentrate while distracted by family and friends in the discomfort of remarkably uncomfortable pews. However, it is only when we take that inspiration home that our faith truly grows. Therefore, both church and home contribute to building our faith into what it is at any given moment. The View from the Pew is a compilation of actual events experienced, observed, or heard over many years. These have been fictionalized into parables set in the ongoing life of a delightful family of four.

About the Author
Dale Soderberg majored in English at Gettysburg College and in Systematic Theology at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg. In addition to serving as a Lutheran pastor for ten years, he taught English and directed musicals at Hamilton Central School for twenty-four years. After his retirement he also taught Old Testament and Systematic Theology for one semester at the University of Papua New Guinea, called to the position by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. His love of travel prodded him into organizing and directing foreign mission tours to South America, Africa, and India from 1958 to 1965. In 2001 he directed a tour to Zimbabwe for the Upstate New York Synod of the ELCA. His activities in many fields has brought him inclusion in the Marquis editions of Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World. He and his wife Marjorie live in Hamilton, New York where they have close ties with Colgate University.
