About the Author
Rockell Y. Williams Brown was born in Anchovy, a lush mountainous village seven miles south of Montego Bay, Jamaica, to Ruth and Victor Williams who are now deceased. Rockell is the fifth of their eight children. Rockell attended public schools in New York City, and after graduation from High School she attended the City University of New York for two years. There she studied liberal arts where intellectual capability was stimulated. She has earned two college degrees; the first from the Institute of Business Management in 1981 with major in business law, the second a Professional Paralegal Degree in 1994, with specialty in Real Estate Law. Rockell has been a Paralegal for 28 years with attention given to the area of Real Property Law in Community Government. Throughout Rockell life she has been placed in positions which compelled her to write and which contributed significantly to the present authorship of her first published book, "View From the Second Row." As a child, Rockell was taught that decent young women should not be too chatty. Cultural stronghold led her to internalize her point of views so as pastime, she wrote short stories and essays for her pleasure. Many years after marriage, she began to journal religiously, this as she said, lightened her spiritual awareness. Still, it never occurred to Rockell that she could become a published writer. Rockell writes study manuals for the ministry where her husband Rev. Barrington E. Brown is the Pastor. She writes articles for the church newsletter as well as proposals for grants. When Rockell is not working as a Paralegal in her busy office in Florida, she spends her time as a Co-Pastor with her husband, teaching several classes including Adult Bible Studies, Women in Ministry Classes, New Membership Preparedness class, etc. Barrington and Rockell are Founders and Pastors of Poinciana Pentecostal Church of God, in Kissimmee, Florida.
