Forty-one women and the author/photographer share the year of their birth: 1931. In their individual life stories, they look back on family, school, and work, and tell us how they see the world as women of seventy.
There are 85 photographs to show how they look now and how they looked as young women.
Like many of the other women in this book, Ina Loewenberg has had a changing life. She has worked as a teacher of philosophy, a tax preparer and a hospital internal auditor. She has twice been an older graduate student, earning degrees in philosophy and accounting. Most recently, she has been an active exhibiting photographer.
As a peer of her subjects, Loewenberg understands what it means to take "the view from 70."
