An interesting artefact from the birth of modern historiography, when historical themes began to be closely observed by historians as opposed to the generalist narratives favoured by Edward Gibbon and his peers. Ex-Library set which has been well-thumbed, but remains tightly bound. Foxing is evident throughout, and previous owners have inked their names inside the cover. These volumes are accordingly presented at a reasonable price, as is befitting their well-used provenance.
