This is among the finest examples of his work known. This water works was located in the center of Philadelphia, at what is now Broad and Market Streets, the site of Philadelphia City Hall. The print is dated by the statue by Benjamin Rush seen here, Nymph of the Schuylkill, which was erected in 1809 and the smoke billowing from the building. The steam engine inside was shut down in 1815.
