1930s, 78pp, a few pages of the services provided by Peckett are followed by captioned photographs of the (very tidy!) Peckett works in Bristol and examples of locomotives built by them, card covers with embossed titles and locomotive illustration. In very good condition, light wear to the covers and the spine slightly faded. Dated to the 1930s as the latest locomotive illustrated is No 1859 and this was built in 1932. Peckett & Sons was formed when Thomas Peckett took over the Bristol based Fox, Walker & Company in the late 1800s and between them they built over 2000 steam locomotives. The last steam locomotive was built in 1958 and the company belatedly started to build diesel locomotives. The company was taken over in 1961 and the works closed the following year.
