Viking Poetry for Heathen Rites: Asatru Liturgy in Traditional Verse

Speak to the Gods in their favorite language. Poetry.

For the first time in centuries, a living collection of Asatru liturgy has been forged in the alliterative meters of the Viking Age—the same powerful verse that once rang through halls and across the sea.

These are not modern free-verse prayers dressed up as “Norse.” They are real skaldic and eddic forms: flowing with kennings, pulsing with alliteration, and crafted to be spoken aloud in ritual. When you use them, you offer the Gods the precious mead of poetry that Óðinn himself risked everything to bring to Asgard.

Hallow the space. Call the Powers. Tell the old stories. Raise the horn in sumbel. Stage ritual dramas. Speak praise that still carries the weight of the ancient skalds. Every poem is ready for actual use in modern Heathen practice—clear enough for a newcomer, deep enough for the seasoned practitioner.

This is the book that lets you stop borrowing other people’s flat prose and start offering the Gods the gift they have always valued most: sparkling poetry worthy of them.

Open it. Raise your voice. Give them mead.
