The Vineyard We Knew is a candid, un-sanitized story about spending summers on Martha's Vineyard under humble circumstances. It's a coming-of-age memoir that unfolds from the perspective of a child, an adolescent, and a teenager. It then interjects the wisdom one acquires as an adult, and takes a look back at our childhood experiences, making note of the juxtaposition between things that are viewed from the vantage point of maturity as opposed to that which is seen through the eyes of an innocent child.

This book embraces the fact that no matter who we are, where we come from, or what our social or economic circumstances might be, our childhood experiences are a blueprint for the rest of our lives.

About the Author

Kevin Parham is an author and professional musician who spent summers on Martha's Vineyard for over fifty years. As a result, he knows the island as well as can anyone not born and raised there.

He grew up in West Medford, Massachusetts, and graduated from Medford High School before attending Salem State College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Kevin has held management positions at IBM Corporation and Verizon Wireless, and has appeared before a wide range of audiences as a performing artist and public speaker.

As a bass player, he has worked with an array of talented musicians, vocalists, and musical groups and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.

Kevin currently resides in Plymouth, Massachusetts with his wife, Olivia, and stepdaughter, Keyarah.
