Book II in the Vinland Cycle. Ragnar�k, the twilight of the gods, has begun. The J�tunn overthrow Asgard, home of the Norse gods, forcing the exodus of its ruler Odin, and members of the house of �sir. When Loki descends to Vinland to claim power for his J�tunn progeny, Odin must follow to ensure the Vinlanders' destiny is fulfilled. A mysterious visitor urges them to journey to Leif's southern settlement and into the caves at the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia Canada, to seek Snorri-and to stop Loki from acquiring the Gram, the sword of power. There, Freydis betrays her kin to seize power, forcing the dwarf Tostig from her brother's camp. Tostig flees for his life-but his fate has already been written in the great sagas. The path to the end is paved with blood and sacrifice, and only the gods know what the final outcome will be.

About the Author

R.G. Johnston wanted to write books for as long as he's been reading them.

In 2007, he self-published his first book, with two more to follow in 2011 and 2014; he typesets, designs his book covers and works directly with his printer.

He's taught workshops about the self-publishing process to audiences and writer's groups; he's consulted individual writers on self-publishing and promoting their works.

Robert enjoys visiting markets and fairs throughout the area, to promote and sell his books. In 2014, he attended the Osgoode Medieval Festival, as an invited author, and performed a section from his first book, Vinland the Beginning, in front of an assembled audience.

He currently resides in Eastern Ontario, Canada.
