Violence In Bloom

When the sun sets, and the neon buzzes to life, an entirely different population spills out onto the streets. Desperate hustlers, dope fiends, crooked cops, lost souls. Characters. In a small southern town, a catastrophic flood brings with it something new. Something alien. Something hungry. A disgraced former cop kidnaps the reporter who exposed his secrets to the world, and takes him on an overnight journey through the dangerous streets of Las Vegas on a mission of redemption. But will he make it to the other side alive? An old man, haunted by a psychopathic figure from his past, finds himself in a deadly game of cat and mouse. As the noose tightens, he finds himself returning to the life of violence that he thought was long buried. And liking it. A Casino heist gone wrong. A gunshot doctor and the woman of his dreams escape to the desert with millions in ill-gotten cash, followed by a cast of dangerous men with sinister agendas. These stories and more are all contained in this volume, a hard-boiled collection of rapid-fire noir in the tradition of Jim Thompson and Donald Westlake, with a little Stephen King weirdness thrown in for seasoning. Pull the blinds, pour a drink, and take a dip in the murky end of the pool. Come on in- the water’s fine.
