Her style can be very poetic, time-conscious (by which I mean she often compares real time to one's inner perception of it), evocative of place and feeling, sensitive, and delicate, but it can aso be confusing until the reader attunes him- or herself to it. In other words, her innovative use of language can be off-putting to those used to writing that is more direct and concrete. Nevertheless, she is rightly famous and deserves to be experienced by all who claim to be well-read, knowledgeable students of English literature.
