168 pages + 6 leaves of darton adverts and a lovely copperplate advert page advertising the shop itself. 10 copper engraved plates (earlier editions had less and this is the 2nd Darton edition, the first 5 editions from 1804 were printed by Tabart and had fewer engravings. Original marbled paper boards and leather spine, spine splitting and rubbed, boards rubbed also. lacks FFEP. except for the merest of browning to page edges a very nice copy all firmly held in original boards. 12 mo. 1820. *Imagine a day trip to a city zoo with children today and you have this book, only 200 years earlier they were already doing it.

Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
