Visiting Mother Nature: A Beginner's Guide to Off-the-Grid RVing

Visiting Mother Nature is a metaphor for getting into the great outdoors, but with a modern twist. Technology, in the form of an RV, is the vehicle that transports us, physically as well as existentially, to those places that are nearly inaccessible, yet highly coveted. Knowing how to get off-the-grid is the key aspect for successfully venturing to our own Gardens of Eden. Doing so requires serious preparation, know-how, and planning. This book explicates the rationale for getting far out, provides the technical knowledge for staying for an extended period, and walks the beginner through the ethics of RVing. The twelve sections of this book covers how to acquire an RV, how to modify it for getting off-the-grid, and the responsibilities that come with venturing into less traveled, often pristine places. Your guide is Dr. Brian M. Wargo, a science educator and physicist who specializes in naturalistic education. His writing is filled with a delicate balance of no-nonsense technical jargon, sarcasm, and real life experiences. If you are a novice trying to explore the best places in North America, but lack the vision, expertise, and wisdom to do so, this book is for you!
