Visual Basic 6 Black Book

Completely explains the crucial Visual Basic tool set in detail. Covers the best Visual Basic programming practices, from design tools to flowcharts. Contains 1,000 pages of everything Visual Basic 6, from radio buttons and checkboxes to XOR drawings, OLE automation, DHTML page design, and Internet Explorer 4 support.

Designed to be the only Visual Basic book you'll ever need.
This book attempts to be - literally - as comprehensive on the subject as Visual Basic as it's possible to be. In fact, the original manuscript was over 1600 pages long - too long for modern softcover bindings! By putting all the code listings on the accompanying CD and through formatting changes, we finally got the book down to its present size, 1095 pages, without omitting any material. I've written many Visual Basic books before, including books that have topped the market, but this is the complete super book, designed to cover any area of Visual Basic you need, and cover it in depth. I honestly believe the coverage is head and shoulders above any Visual Basic other book out there. There are thirty chapters and nearly 800 examples covering Visual Basic from the basics to the very advanced: from the Internet to databases, from multimedia to ActiveX, from the Windows registry to creating e-mail programs, from flat scroll bars to pop-up menus, from creating ftp programs to adding on-line registration to your applications (the Table of Contents alone is twenty three pages long). Just about every Visual Basic control that comes with the product is covered in depth - a claim I don't think any other book can make. All in all, this book was written to represent the new standard in Visual Basic coverage, more complete - and more accessible - than ever before. Did I reach that goal? You're the only one who can decide - please write to the publisher with feedback and suggestions what you'd like to see in future editions - I really want to make sure this book stays as complete as it's possible to make it!
