Theory has become increasingly significant in the field of the visual, giving rise to a whole discipline of 'visual culture' situated within the disciplines of media/communication/cultural studies and also within history of art. This book aims to offer a clear exposition of their ideas and how they have been used in visual cultural studies.
About the Authors
Patrick Fuery is the Director of the Center for CCI at Chapman University, USA. He was previously Dean of the Arts and Humanities College at Chapman, as well as Professor of Film and Media at the University of London, UK, Sussex University, UK, and Macquarie University. Australia. He is the author of nine books, including Intimacy and the Anxieties of Cinematic Flesh (Bloomsbury, 2023), Madness and Cinema (Bloomsbury, 2004), Visual Cultures and Critical Theory (Bloomsbury, 2003), and New Developments in Film Theory (Bloomsbury, 2000), as well as numerous book chapters and articles.
