Vitrectomy: The journey ahead

Book description

The biggest challenge a person might face while battling serious illness is maintaining mental health. Some adversities of life can impact in such a magnitude that they can break a person. Often recovery has been meant to be physical but actual recovery also means maintaining a mental well-being.
This short book is an attempt by the author to document the ups and downs that he faced when he had a retinal detachment and had to undergo three eye surgeries. The book uncovers the mental state of a patient who already had preexisting eye complications and had to face a new threatening event of Retinal Detachment. The book portrays the journey of the author from being a glaucoma patient to Retinal Detachment and how he tried to handle his mental sanity, understand life’s harsh reality, and adapt to the change to handle life’s circumstances practically.
The book highlights the reasons behind a retinal detachment and how the recovery process may take place. While recovering, what to expect and how to handle an unexpected change in normal routine life.
