About the Author
Joke Raes is a Belgian artist known for her immersive, nature-inspired installations that merge ceramics and porcelain artworks, sculpture, drawing, and conceptual practice. Her work explores the intersections of human activity and natural systems, often incorporating re-appropriated materials and organic forms. Raes has exhibited extensively in Belgium and internationally, including at HISK in Ghent, Zebrastraat, and various group exhibitions. Her installations are noted for their intuitive, tactile qualities and ecological awareness, reflecting a deep engagement with contemporary environmental discourse. Raes’ practice bridges visual art, ecological commentary, and experiential design, earning her recognition among curators, collectors, and institutions.
