For thousands of years, human beings have gathered their wisdom directly from the land. Direct perception was used by the ancients to help them survive. Food, medicine and spiritual teaching all came directly from the Web of Life to the individual. Life was seen as a balance in which the spiritual forces of nature guided people on their journey. Nature and the Goddess were revered and people sought alignment with natural forces. If one encountered misfortune or illness, it was seen as a symptom of misalignment with the natural world and therefore guidance of how to seek re-alignment was asked directly to nature itself.
In one sense, VOICES OF THE EARTH is an extremely personal book. It is a collection of wisdom teachings that I recorded in my journals over the course of 10 years. I sought this wisdom as a path of healing, as a means to better find alignment and wholeness for myself. This is a path that continues to this day for me when in the sincerity of my pain and suffering I walk into the wild lands and cry to the spirits. Part of the incomprehensible magnificence of our world is that in those magic, wild places, I have indeed heard answers that have helped to bring me closer to right alignment with the Web of Life.
Every strand being interwoven with every other, our actions reverberate throughout space and time. It is my sincere wish that these teachings which have done so much to aid my personal healing be a source of joy and encouragement for everyone who comes in contact with them.
I bring these teachings to the world in the spirit of the Hollow Bone. The wisdom is mine only so much as I can embody it in my words, thoughts and deeds after it has passed through me. For this reason, the teachings are presented exactly as they came to me; directly from the source, without interpretation, dilution or commentary.
The teachings require no anecdote from my personal journey to enhance their meaning; they are whole in and of themselves. Strung together, the teachings form a story of their own, a story designed to guide us on the journey of right alignment.
Find yourself a comfortable place where you will not be disturbed and read the book from cover to cover. Notice when you are finished if your consciousness has shifted. Notice if you are more attuned to the world around you.
After having read the book in its entirety, your psyche is prepared to use it as an Oracle. Hold a question in your mind, open the book to a random page and see if what is written there brings insight to your query. Allow the magic of synchronicity to unveil itself in your life. You are about to begin a magical journey of healing, self-fulfillment and love.
