Original illustrated paper-covered boards with brown cloth spine. Rear board shows partial publisher's list. Spine is torn and in poor condition, and boards are worn. Corners and edges are exposed. Flyleaf wrinkled. Pages are tanned and lightly foxed, but otherwise unmarked. Contains publisher's lists and advertisements, continued on both pastedowns and flyleaf. The contents of this second volume include new themes and modern gems principally for soft stops; preludes, postludes, and hymn tunes of a cheerful character; wedding, festive, and national music; and plaintive and requiem music. Albert Wilhelm Berg (1825-1907), a New York organist, studied at the Paris Conservatory and taught music in New York. He was a writer and musical compiler for William Pond & Co., and organist for the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, New York.
