Inserted are the editor's compliments slip and an a.l.s. of 1949 from him to 'Dear Wilson' (of Hatchard's bookshop), reporting on the sales of his Jane Austen: Facts and Problems (1948) - 'I hope she would approve her editor's modest success.'.
