[x], 60pp., 4to. Without the initial blank leaf, first three leaves with small expert restoration of extreme blank upper corners. A very nice copy, stitched in antique-style wrappers. One of several editions published the same year, of a tract controversial enough to prompt King James to have its author extradited from France and thrown in prison. The theme was, as the title-page declared, "the pretended match of Prince Charles, with the Infanta Dona Maria." It was a subject much debated in England, and provoked an outpouring of anti-Spanish sentiment. STC 20946.7, with B1r last line "Palatinate" and line 8 of the same page ending "verti-".
