A US Army official form issued by the Office Port Commander of Coblenz, Germany, recording the battle service of George Spielman. Records for the draft cards on the Ancestry website reveal only one George Spielman, only 1 man of that name with a draft registration in 1917, that of George Spielman of 347 Spring Ave., Brooklyn, DOB 16 May 1897, a medical student. His parents were Abraham & Rebecca Spielman, émigrés of Russia/Poland. He died at age 99 in Largo Florida. His obituary stated that he was a physician and surgeon with a medical practice in Manhattan and served 10 years as an assistant medical examiner for the city, was a graduate of the State of New York Medical College, NYC, had been an attending surgeon at several Manhattan hospitals. He was also heavily involved with the Freemasons. He is recorded as living in Manhattan in 1930 & 1940 with his wife Regina, but no children are recorded. Typescript form, 8 1/4 x 12", splits at folds, repaired archivally. He was at the Somme Defensive between March 21st and April 6, 1918; Champagne-Marne Defensive, between July 15 and July 18, 1918 and Ypres, Lys Offensive, between September 26 and November 11, 1918.
