2nd edition of the 1925 original. XIV, (2), 155 PP, plus 22 plates (1 in colour with 12 house flags and 21 in b/w, 17 of which are "packets"). Fp: Liverpool in 1840 - Black Ball packet disembarking passengers. Cloth cover, gilt title on front cover and spine, dust jacket which has a few small chips or closed tears. Bookplate of previous owner on front endpaper. Foxing spots (heavy on outside edges). An otherwise near fine copy which is scarce with the dust jacket. 22 x 14.5. A treatise on the lines which served the Atlantic ferry in the first part of the 19th century. Seller Inventory # 70285
