12mo, (143x87mm), [96]p. somewhat soiled throughout, a small piece from the title-page with slight loss from the price, Previous owner's signature of Mary Isherwood on the title verso. Disbound. (ESTC 91926) ETSC locates only 6 copies (5 UK, 1 NA) of this Newbery titles that passed unnoticed in Roscoe's monumental bibliography. Two issues appeared in what is presumed to be the same year, this one has the full work 'University' in the second line of the imprint. The small piece missing from the title notes that the book was published at 3d but now lacks the continuation 'in sheets.' Judging by the evidence of use resulting in the soiling of the text, the early owner perhaps avoided the corruption of 'ungodly songs and ballads.' Please note that the advised postage is based on an average book, if possible the postage will be reduced to the correct amount and you will be notified by email.
