Item description from seller

24 mo. 6 in. x 3 3/4 in. Light-green cloth covered boards, stamped floriated borders, with a central vignette, in gilt of the title, surrounding a sternwheeler on the Hudson, flying a flag, this design repeated to rear board. Embossed also on both front and rear boards are "Koch & Co. Binders, N.Y.". Title page is nestled amongst 11 pp. of advertising. 6 pp. of advertising as well, to the rear. Title page bears a stamp "This Book is a Gift to/The Port Chester Public Library/From" and a line below bears the inked signature of Anna S. Wilson, presumeably a relative of the author/publisher H. Wilson. Engraved illustrations, views and full page map within, as well. Some flaking/loss to cloth of bottom 2 inches of spine. 91 pp. including endpapers. Tipped-in foldout map (1848) printed on banknote stock measuring (9 1/8 in. x 7 7/8 in.). Bottom left reads: "Engraved for The Great Metropolis for the year 1848", and the legend lists the geographical coordinates, and the 1845 Population (371,223). The Map is lovely, and near fine. Wilson also published (and advertised for, in this volume) his larger, 200-page pocket-size book: "The Great Metropolis".…
