About the Authors
Benjamin Ang is Senior Fellow and Head of the Centre of Excellence for National Security (CENS), oversees Future Issues in Technology (FIT), as well as Head of Digital Impact Research (DIR) at RSIS. He leads the CENS policy research team that writes, publishes, and lectures internationally on national security issues related to cyber, international cyber norms, disinformation, cybercrime, foreign interference, hybrid threats, digital security, social cohesion, polarization, and social resilience. At FIT, he leads the team exploring policy issues in artificial intelligence, space, quantum technology, smart cities, biotechnology, and other emerging technologies. Through DIR, he networks with the wide array of RSIS experts who study the impact of digital technology into their respective security domains. Benjamin graduated from Law School at the National University of Singapore and has an MBA and MS-MIS (Masters of Science in Management Information Systems) from Boston University.
Helena Yixin Huang is Associate Research Fellow with the Executive Deputy Chairman's Office at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Prior to joining RSIS, she worked at the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). She holds a Master of Science in International Relations from RSIS and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English from NTU. Her research straddles both digital and cyber issues, covering topics such as how the use of digital technologies impact states and societies, digital rights, cybercrime, as well as business and human rights.
Eugene EG Tan is Associate Research Fellow with the Centre of Excellence for National Security (CENS). He specialises in cybersecurity issues including cyber strategy, cyber diplomacy, and cyber deterrence issues, Singapore's foreign policy, and aviation issues. He previously taught various international relations and comparative politics modules, including International Politics of Southeast Asia, European Politics, South Asia Politics and Singapore's Foreign Policy, at the National University of Singapore, Department of Political Science. Eugene holds a Master of International Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts (Politics) from the University of Otago, and a Bachelor of Arts from the National University of Singapore.
E-Reng Tan is Research Analyst in the Centre of Excellence for National Security (CENS) at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. E-Reng's current research interests span the multiplex domains of cyber, online harms, disinformation and misinformation, and emerging technologies.
