Edition limited to 500 numbered copies (450 for sale). *The exhibition marked the thirtieth anniversary of the publication of Carter and Pollard's Enquiry into the Nature of Certain Nineteenth Century Pamphlets In the Foreword, John Carter notes that many of the items in this exhibition had belonged to friends or associates of T. J. Wise, including Harry Buxton Forman, Herbert Gorfin, Edmund Gosse, and Walter Brindley Sister, 'perhaps Wise's oldest and closest friend' [p. vii].
