The Wailing

Late one night, Jake Anderson, a best-selling author, is startled awake by an eerie wailing in the forest surrounding his home. Deciding to investigate its source, he sets out that same night. Badly injured by a wild animal, he becomes disoriented and plummets into the icy waters of nearby Wallowa Lake. Fortunately, he's rescued by Missy Morning Star, an attractive park ranger with an audacious nature and a generous heart. Having survived two vicious attacks by a supernatural creature intent on killing Jake, these two decide to pool their resources to learn who or what is trying to kill him--and why. Together, they desperately search for answers to the eerie enigma before it's too late.

"The Wailing" is a gripping, fast-paced, thriller set in the wilds of northeastern Oregon's beautiful Wallowa Mountains--the first of eight in the masterful Wallowa Lake Thrillers Series. For info on compelling new sequels, please visit JamesDobieThrillers.com

James Dobie published his first thriller/mystery novel in 2022, though by then he had already written six more. He has now finished his first draft of the eighth and final book in his Wallowa Lake Thrillers series, five of which are yet unpublished. His goal is to release two thrillers every year. "Angel of Oregon," published in eBook format the end of May 2024, is James' third Wallowa Lake Thriller, a standalone sequel to the first two, The Wailing and The Wood Sprite.

A native Texan, James lives in Austin, where he is now creating imaginative psychological/paranormal novels which are not part of a series. In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar. His thrillers often have as heroes high-spirited, defiantly different females trapped in situations rife with danger. Devising diverse, ever more dire methods of tossing his characters straight into grave danger at the most stunning moment is always in James' mind.
