Walk on: Life, Loss, Trust, and Other Realities

John Goldingay is a brilliant and sometimes controversial biblical scholar-but he is also a husband and father. In this touching yet theologically perceptive volume, Goldingay reviews some of the most basic questions about the Christian life. These one-word concerns, including community, love, struggle, and tears, are basic, foundational ideas that rarely submit to one-word answers. Goldingay's reflections are laced with references to popular music and personal experiences, many of which relate to the multiple sclerosis that afflicts his wife, Ann. Blended throughout this touching volume are sophisticated theological and biblical insights. The result is a sensible and sophisticated look at the realities of living as a Christian.

John Goldingay (Ph.D., University of Nottingham) is David Allan Hubbard Professor of Old Testament at Fuller Theological Seminary. His many works include the Word Biblical Commentary on Daniel and Models for Scripture.
