Walk Out Proud

"Edwin Light's Walk Out Proud is a brave and compelling book about his struggle to live the truth of his sexual orientation in a world of ignorance and cruelty. This is a powerful story of battles lost and lessons learned. Light wins the war after losing almost every battle. The scars are deep, but Light's resilience and hope run deeper. This book should be required reading for every gay adolescent. It could save lives."

-Robert Spiegel, author of Net Strategy.

Walk Out Proud chronicles my struggle to be queer from the 1950s on, a journey that began with fear, conversion therapy and a broken engagement with Lisa, to physical assault and a broken jaw in Mass General, and finally leading to self-acceptance and gay matrimony.
