Walk Together Children and Don't Get Weary: A Model for Conflict Resolution for Local Congregations in The Church of God in Christ, Inc.

This book gives training on congregational conflict and an innovative model for conflict resolution through a team approach for the Church of God in Christ, Inc. (COGIC), a denomination of over 7 million adherents in over 100 countries headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. The specific aim of this book achieves this goal by engaging the literature—secular and faith-centered—and presents a team conflict resolution model that is not alien to the Scriptures and the COGIC theological tradition but rooted in it, as it is displayed in exegetical text and COGIC’s lex orandi and foundational documents. Moreover, this project also achieves the following: First, the book will explain the need for a model of conflict resolution for COGIC. Second, it will explain conflict and congregational conflict in a broad sense to give the reader an informed view of this reality in churches in crisis. Finally, the book will conclude with the constitution and operation of the COGIC conflict resolution team (CCRT).
