Reviews
Reaching back into sports history, Frazier's autobiography focuses on the New York Knicks' 1969-70 season, when the team captured the NBA championship. Although, Frazier says, it was a squad without superstars, the Knicks had a strong sense of teamwork. Writing with New York Post sports journalist Offen, Frazier, nicknamed Clyde for his wide-brimmed hats, reflects on that sense of teamwork as he recalls Willis Reed, Bill Bradley, Dave DeBusschere and Dick Barnett and their contributions. He himself, we're shown, developed an almost schizophrenic personality: a shy, conservative Southerner in his private life, Frazier's public persona was that of a swinging man-about-Manhattan. But that was 20 years ago, so the book is likely to have a limited appeal. Photos.
