About the Author
Barbara is also an award-winning journalist and editor who has worked for numerous publications including The Ottawa Citizen, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, The Toronto Star and Ottawa Magazine. In both 2005 and 2006, articles she co-authored were cited for the Governor Genera's Michener Award for Meritorious Public Service Journalism. Her work has also garnered a National Magazine Award, the Canadian Association of Journalist's Investigative Reporting Award and four Canadian Business Press KR Wilson awards. During the past 14 years she has specialized in medical journalism and is currently the Deputy Editor, Analysis and Humanities at the Canadian Medical Association Journal, a peer-reviewed, scientific journal published 18 times annually, with a circulation 75,000.
