Circa. 1925. Original red cloth with black titles and coat-of-arms design to front cover, advertisements to endpapers. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white photographs, plus a large folding map of Swanage and the Isle of Purbeck in very good condition. Condition: good. Covers show light rubbing and some fading to spine, binding firm, but spine coming away at front opening. Pages lightly age-toned with scattered foxing, but contents generally clean. A well-preserved interwar “Red Guide” including rich period advertising for hotels, banks, and travel firms, offering a vivid snapshot of 1920s seaside tourism.

Over the years they gathered an eclectic library, including both general reading and specialist titles, some of which are now quite collectible. This collection includes a mixture of fiction, non-fiction, and specialist interest books (such as golf, history, and children’s literature). A few are valuable first editions, while others are simply well-loved reading copies that deserve a good new home. I am not a professional bookseller, just someone who would like to see these books enjoyed and appreciated by others.
