A comprehensive encyclopaedic guide to rural occupations, farming, and country life. Being an exhaustive volume on the practical managements of agricultural occupations, providing the most recent information on a variety of subjects and scientific methods. With chapters on choosing and managing a farm, different crops, the dairy farm, gardening, field sports, trees and their management, and the working dog. Including references on the care of different animals from sheep, pigs, goats, asses, mules, and horses, to bees, rabbits, and pigeons. With publisher's advertisements to the rear. Dated from the British Library. Bound in half calf with marbled boards. Externally, smart with rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Minor fading to the spine. Hinges starting but firm with the front free endpaper lacking. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Light spotting and minor age toning to the first and last few pages. Good.
