The American Frontier, 1777. Lewis Wetzel will battle to his last breath. Hit in the breastbone by a musket ball, the wounded fourteen-year-old looks up to see the painted faces of the men attacking. So he panics and runs for his life, only for he and his brother to be quickly captured.

Knotche swore vengeance on his father’s murder. So after trespassers ignored warnings and put up a cabin near his tribe's territory, the raiding party leader vows to strike and leave no prisoners. But when the two boys impress his companions with their fighting spirit, he reluctantly agrees to keep them alive to train them as warriors.

Fearing he’ll be turned into a savage, Lewis soon escapes and begins a relentless quest to kill every red devil in ruthless retaliation. And as Knotche struggles against the violent invasion of his homeland, he races toward a brutal confrontation with his sworn enemy.
