About this Item

This edition is part of the Golden Treasure Library which was made up of 8 volumes. Volume is undated but probably 1920s-30s. In publisher's original green cloth binding with title in gold to spine and Mabel Lucie Attwell's colour plate 'Tom was so lonely' to front cover. This edition includes 6 colour plate inserts. Spine is worn and faded, binding is good, some of the colour plate inserts are starting to come loose as they were only tipped into the binding. There is foxing to many of the pages, foxing to fore and bottom edges, pencil number on front free end paper. Further details and images are available on request.

We are two bibliophiles currently selling some of the books from the collection of the actor Paul Scofield. This includes many first editions signed and given to him by the authors as well as working copies of the many plays he performed in. There is a nice collection of books relating to his role as Sir Thomas More in the 1966 play 'A Man for all Seasons' We've tried to give as much detail as possible on the condition of our books but are more than happy to send more photos if required.
